Business Negotiations and Consulting Practice Group

Morris Law Partners' Business Negotiations and Consulting Practice Group, composed of “business people who happen to be lawyers,” has been assisting businesses with various aspects of risk mitigation for approximately forty years. Through our experience with virtually every type of business model, we have developed a wealth of knowledge with respect to the strategic and tactical challenges that face business owners.  We approach each challenge faced by an business from a “business-decision” perspective that encourages business-related solutions rather than more inefficient and costly litigation-oriented solutions. Because most business decisions involve a balancing of “risk versus cost,” we work closely with our clients to understand the nature of any given risk and the alternatives available to manage that risk.

The Negotiations and Consulting Practice Group focuses much of its time on issues including Entity Creation, Entrance Strategies and Exit Strategies, and Transactions.

Estate Planning and Consulting Practice Group

Without a strategic plan for managing wealth, the disposition of the results of your hard work is determined by the state, and not by you - the person who accumulated it. Our Estate Planning and Consulting Practice Group works with clients to create an overarching estate plan that anticipates tax liabilities and establishes an individualized strategy for transferring a client’s accumulated wealth. As part of our long-term focus, our lawyers also contact clients on an annual basis to ensure that their estate planning tracks any changes in the legal and tax codes.

The simple fact is that most people are worth more than they assume, and a strategic estate plan will aid in preserving and passing on assets to their intended beneficiaries in a manner that meets our clients’ desires. We have experience helping clients develop an estate plan using a variety of legal tools, including offshore asset protection trusts, generation-skipping trusts, qualified domestic trusts, unified credit trusts, life insurance trusts, spendthrift trusts, and other tax-advantaged methods that serve to protect and appropriately distribute a client’s assets. Our lawyers help!

We are also experienced in helping clients develop, among other estate planning tools, Last Wills and Testaments to serve as a firm foundation for the estate plan, Family Limited Partnerships, Living Wills, and Durable Powers of Attorney for Health Care Purposes.
